A friend of mine, who has a sort of owl obsession, often comes over and asks for half a cup of coffee. So obviously when I found this at Value Village it had to his. He's working on a massive deadline for an art opening right now and when I noticed this in his new studio yesterday, he said it had been making him laugh despite being almost nonverbal with exhaustion. Him, not the owl.

My dad is an immigrant to Canada. He came in 1974 from Jamaica. This mug is exactly the kind of thing he thought was witty. He probably sent one of these back to his brother to prove that Canada was a great place -- great owls, great coffee, great jokes.....
